• The chemistry has been contaminated.
• Developer and fixer have been mixed together.

  Note: If the chemistry has become contaminated or mixed, you MUST drain, flush, and refill with fresh chemistry. Be SURE to flush both the replenishment and recirculation lines then rinse the tanks and racks thoroughly to prevent contamination of the fresh chemistry!
